Catherine Kent is a born romantic and unabashed lifetime fan of Hayley Mills’ Pollyanna. (Anyone who knows her will not be surprised by this admission!) Movies were her first love, but reading is her one true addiction. The world of books really took flight for her when, at the tender age of ten, her grandmother gave her a paper bag full of Harlequin romance novels and an instant fan was born! Catherine left behind her first career as a high-tech trainer and management consultant in the spring of 1998—a decision made in a heartbeat when her nanny fell unconscious while tending her two children! (Catherine salutes all working mothers, whom she knows have nerves of steel!) Now she hopes to become a published (and published, and published…) author. In pursuit of that dream, she has just completed her first full-length manuscript, a women’s fiction novel with strong romantic elements, titled After the Rain. She is thrilled to have found WRW and RWA, through which she can learn from the experience of so many fine writers. Catherine has won awards for her poetry, and hopes that bodes well for her new career. A firm believer in giving back, she considers it an honor to serve WRW as current Membership Chair. Catherine lives in Northern Virginia with her husband (Prince Valiant), their two children (a boy and a girl), and their yellow English Lab, named Taxicab.   #

Booklist called Joyce Lamb's first novel, Relative Strangers, “a rollicking ride full of blazing passion, non-stop suspense and heart-pounding action,” which is very much like Joyce’s real life. For her second novel, Caught in the Act, a 2004 RITA finalist for romantic suspense, Joyce drew extensively from her experience as a journalist . . . except for the parts about murder and mayhem . . . well, except for the parts about murder. Her third novel, Found Wanting, is on shelves now, and she's furiously working on her next. In her spare time, Joyce is an editor at USA Today.   #
