Julia Canchola
As a child, Julia would often read books and write their sequels. Later, in her teens, Julia got hooked into reading romance when two friends started fighting about which books were better, Harlequin Presents or Silhouette Desire. Silly,of course, because both lines were unique. After that first taste, Julia would smuggle books into class and pretend to study. Bad girl. But love never fades, so when she found herself still avidly reading those wonderful books years later, and realized that her daydreams had evolved into full-fledged characters and stories, she knew she was in trouble. A pen and a ream of paper later, her first manuscript took shape and became a Golden Heart Finalist in the short contemporary category, a sign that she wasn’t kidding herself, the girl has talent. #

Kathryn strongly believes in giving back to the organization that supported her on her journey to achieving her dream of seeing her work published. She is a long time WRW member and habitual volunteer for the chapter. #
