After graduating from college with a degree in psychology, Robyn Amos discovered that writing about the characters living in her imagination was more fulfilling than writing research papers. Her first book was published in 1997. Since then Robyn has written multicultural romance for Arabesque, Silhouette, HarperCollins, and she is currently writing for Harlequin’s Kimani line. Robyn has worked a multitude of day jobs until she was finally able to live her dream of writing full-time in 2005. Robyn first joined WRW in 1994, and, over the years, has served the organization as Secretary, Director, program committee member and workshop speaker.  #

Karen got interested in romance when her Valentino-loving grandmother gave her The Sheik to read. Thanks to her grandmother’s early influence, Karen began writing contemporary romances in 1990 when the books she wanted to read could not be found on the shelves. She’s now sold seventeen books to Harlequin/Silhouette and her first two single title projects to Signature. Karen is originally from the conservative state of Vermont. It surprised her that she loves writing hot, sexy heroes and the strong women who tame them. But beneath all that conservatism, beats the heart of a true rebel! Settled since 1981 in the Northern Virginia area, she’s doing her best to raise her two daughters, each a rebel in their own right. Between her roles as an administrative assistant for a university dean and single working mother, it's an adventure finding time to get in a few hours of writing in amidst the mundane chores and reigning chaos of everyday life. She’s received numerous honors such as the HOLT Medallion for her first book, Jennifer’s Outlaw, made Waldenbooks bestseller list twice in 2003, nominated for a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award in 2004 and a double finalist in the National Reader’s Choice Award in 2005. She has been a member of WRW since 1997 and served WRW in panels, judging, and the annual retreat.  #

Catherine Asaro's fiction is a successful blend of hard science fiction, romance, and exciting space adventure. Her novel The Quantum Rose won the Nebula Award for best novel of 2001. She is a three-time winner of the Romantic Times Book Club award for "Best Science Fiction Novel." To date, she has published 16 novels, 11 of which belong to her Saga of the Skolian Empire. She also writes a romantic fantasy series for Luna, the next installment of which, The Dawn Star, will appear in July 2006. When not writing and making appearances at conferences, Catherine also teaches a math club for homeschool children of all ages.  #
image Deborah Barnhart

Deborah Barnhart is an avowed romantic, who discovered romance and suspense reading her first Victoria Holt novel. Mary Stewart soon followed, then she turned to the wonderful Jane Austen and George Eliot. All were great influences when she penned her first short story in high school, though she wrote several screen plays for Bononza before that. Alas, they never found their way to the small screen. While unpublished, she is currently working on a Regency Historical Suspense and plans to write both historical and contemporary suspenses in the future. She became a WRW member and attended her first Retreat in 1989. A few years later she became a WRW volunteer and discovered wonderful friends who continue to support her writing goals. Deborah has held chapter offices of Secretary and President and chaired the Program and Retreat committees. She is also the proud recipient of the WRW Magic Crystal for service to the chapter and the RWA Service Award for her year as President.  #
